When I reflect on my childhood and what I wanted to be when I grew up – it was a “Teacher”. I had this passion for helping others grow and learn. When I actually told my teachers at school; that I wanted to be like them; they said Don’t do it! When you are little, you don’t know the world as much as you think you do, but I remember thinking maybe they are right? How my journey has taken an amazing turn from a career in Human Resources until now.
When I decided to jump off the cliff which created laughter at the recent Leadership Effectiveness Group meeting last week and start my own leadership and talent company, my purpose was clear. I wanted to create something that made a difference where I was TEACHING others on how they can become the leader they want to be…my life is now back to my childhood dream of being a teacher.
So we poised the question – “if you were running your own business what would you do differently?”
Hmmmm….what would I do differently? I would have asked for help…because I don’t know everything and I would have jumped off much sooner!
