Who is Sonia McDonald?
Sonia McDonald from LeadershipHQ has over 20 years human resource management and organisational development experience. She has held senior roles in organisational development, learning and development, strategic recruitment and talent management fields. She has worked in various industries such as retail, hotels, hospitality, education, construction and engineering, consulting, executive search and the public sector around Australia and around the globe. She is a dynamic, passionate, innovative and collaborative consultant and coach where her focus is on high performance cultures, leadership, teams and individuals!
Sonia’s work at LeadershipHQ is focused on delivering customised programs and interventions to ensure your unique business and people requirements are met. LeadershipHQ is dedicated to delivering exceptional outcomes for their client’s organisations and their people. She is actively involved and passionate about best practice and innovative tools and strategies around Leadership, Organisational Development, Executive Search and Talent Management.
LeadershipHQ started as a blog for leaders in the HR arena who knew she was dedicated to sharing best practice and cutting edge research and knowledge around Human Resources, Organisational Development, Change, Leadership and Talent Management – pretty much everything that is her passion! Sonia McDonald is now the Director of LeadershipHQ the organisation which had its official launch in 2011 but still has the same vision and purpose – to partner with organisations and leaders in the industry – consulting and delivering best practice and innovative solutions and strategies in leadership, talent and change effectiveness.
What am I currently working on…?
Sonia is currently working on – building her business to be the best it can be in the arena of Human Resources in particular leadership, organisational development and talent management. She is currently studying the Neuroscience of Leadership; which is a passion of hers and is cutting edge in the leadership space on understanding the brain. Sonia researches and writes for the blogs – which is read by many professionals around the world and her latest one on “Why Change is SO hard” is now an interactive presentation and workshop which she will be speaking about at the National HR Summit in Sydney. Her drive and inspiration in the human resources and leadership space comes from her purpose around making a difference.
Advice for other HR professionals
At the end of the day, WHY do you do what you do?
Why – I love what I do because I can make a difference – and as a leader in the HR industry – I have always kept this as my core purpose. My passion to collaborate and share what I can with others is my drive.
